Axis Theatre General Auditions 2024
Axis Theatre is accepting submissions from Vancouver/Lower Mainland based performers, puppeteers, singers, and actors for our 2024-25 Season. Our 2024-25 productions will tour schools, community theatres, and professional theatres. We are seeking artists who are interested in touring productions, theatre for young audiences, and traveling for work. All performers who work with Axis Theatre are required to get a Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check. We are not accepting self-tape submissions at this time.
Axis' Artistic Director, Chris McGregor, and Artistic Associate, Cassandra Bourchier will be facilitating the auditions.
Equity members will be seen first at all open audition calls. Submissions from Equity and non-Equity performers are welcome. All artists will be engaged under a CTA form of contract, specifically Article 55:00 Theatre for Young Audiences. Accommodations are arranged and per diems are supplied for any out-of-town touring and runouts as per the CTA.
SUBMISSION DEADLINE: The submission deadline is 5:00 PM PST, Friday, May 3rd, 2024.
AUDITION DATES:
Auditions will take place in person from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM on May 16th and 17th, 2024, in Vancouver, BC at Carousel Theatre for Young People - 1411 Cartwright Street - Granville Island.
AUDITION REQUIREMENTS:
During the audition, each auditionee will need to prepare one family friendly monologue running two minutes in length and a song of their choosing running no longer than a minute. They may choose to perform their song as a cappella or bring an instrument. A piano will be provided, but no accompanist will be available. An auditionee may choose to replace their song with an additional monologue running no longer than a minute.
