After celebrating over 40 years of success, Axis is a now a brand that stands out from fledgling theatre groups, carrying confidence and self-awareness. With a new brand strategy and creative by Ion Brand Design, Axis is celebrating the launch of their new identity with a party on October 29th. Recently appointed Artistic Director, Chris McGregor, is amping things up with inspiring new projects, bringing innovative physical theatre to young audiences across Canada. Equipped with a recognizable brand that will appeal to their growing audience, Axis has a unified voice speaking for its collection of productions. Axis Theatre Company continues their tradition of producing engaging physical theatre, inspiring action in thousands of children, families and adults. The launch will take place at Studio 58, Langara College, 100 W 49th Ave in Vancouver on Saturday, October 29th. The performance of Robinson Crusoe + Friday will begin at 2:30pm, reception to follow. PERFORMANCE FEATURING ROBINSON CRUSOE + FRIDAY

Adapted from the classic novel by Daniel Defoe, this imaginative retelling emphasizes embracing cultural differences in an adventure full of comedic miscommunication, history and heart! Robinson Crusoe + Friday features William Hopkins in the role of Robinson Crusoe, and addresses gender equality with Sarah Roa in the traditionally male role of Friday. This adaptation was written by Colin Heath and Michael Wolski. Watch the preview to get a sneak peek.
